Howdy!

Written by my friend and batchmate, Jignesh Avadiya, this comprehensive article serves as a valuable guide to navigating the MHRM course. It is designed to provide you with a clear understanding of the course structure, ensuring that you can make the most out of your learning experience.

---------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone!

Brace yourselves for an immersive exploration of the course, as we delve into its depths and embark on a captivating adventure together.

First of all, Congratulations on clearing the entrance test and getting selected for MHRM!❤️ I'll take you through the course and explain what you can expect.πŸ˜‡

Document verificationπŸ“„

After getting selected, you'll be given a date to submit and verify your documents. The place for verification will most likely be our own faculty, and the whole batch will be given two separate days to do so. This will be the first day you'll meet half of your classmates.😁 Obviously, there will be many unknown and unfamiliar faces who will likely be your best friends in the futureπŸ’―. Many of you will exchange numbers and stay in touch until your orientation day.

Orientation DayπŸ‘£

After document verification, you'll be given a particular day to come to the faculty. It might be unknown to you guys, but yes, the first day will be Orientation Day for all of you. We, seniors, will be waiting for you to welcome you with roses and chocolatesπŸ˜„. You'll be asked to sit in B.R. Ambedkar Hall. On this day, you'll get introduced to the working of the faculty and its schedule and working system of the faculty. We, seniors, will guide you regarding everything on your first day, so don't worry and feel relaxed.

Orientation ProgramπŸ˜ƒ

Starting from Orientation Day, you'll be given a schedule of 10 days for your orientation program. You'll be introduced to various parts of the university, faculty, and various other places in Baroda. Trust me, these 10 days will be very memorable days for all of you and you'll get to know all your classmates and form a never-ending bonding.😍

ScheduleπŸ—“

Now let me tell you about the schedule of the course. It is divided into two parts:
  1. Classes
  2. Fieldwork
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will be your fieldwork days & Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (TTS) will be your class days.

Classes πŸ›

Classes will commence at 8:00 AM (so early for many of you right?πŸ˜‚) So please develop a habit of waking up early, especially in winter πŸ₯Ά.

  • 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM - First lecture
  • 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM - Second lecture

Fieldwork πŸ§‘πŸ»‍πŸ’»

Most of you will be unaware and very eager to know about the fieldwork, so let me take you through it. All of you will be assigned specific fieldwork agencies where you'll all be supposed to go every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And please don't worry if your agency is very far away from the faculty. Even I was also placed at Sumeru Hospital at Karjan in my very first semesterπŸ˜‰.

Fieldwork partnersπŸ˜„

All of you will be given agency in pairs and will have to work together in your fieldwork agency. Trust me when I write this that you'll form a never-ending bonding and great friendship with your first fieldwork partner because first is always special πŸ’―. (Well, I personally did form a very good bonding with my fieldwork partnerπŸ˜‡, and I am sure that all of you guys also will.)

And yes, please learn to be supportive towards each other if you want to form a great understanding with your fieldwork partner.πŸ˜ŠπŸ™

Fieldwork supervisors πŸ‘¨πŸ»‍🏫

You and your fieldwork partner will be assigned to a supervisor to whom you'll have to report regarding your fieldwork and submit your fieldwork reports. You'll also have a supervisory conference every week to discuss your fieldwork activities. You'll also have your mid-term evaluation and end-term evaluation conferences.

Fieldwork reports πŸ˜₯

Now here comes the most stressful part, but don't worry, you'll learn to handle it. You'll need to submit your fieldwork reports every Tuesday to your supervisor. We'll share with you the format of the report, and you'll have to write daily reports regarding the activities done in the fieldwork agency. You're also supposed to write collateral readings, which will include topics related to your study or to your fieldwork agency which you guys are supposed to study in the week and write and submit to your fieldwork supervisor. You'll also have to submit the timesheet, which will include the work hours you did in your fieldwork agency.

Supervisory conference πŸ˜ƒ

A supervisory conference will be held during the class day. One supervisory conference will be held per week, and you and your fieldwork partner, and your supervisor will discuss the fieldwork activities and discuss the work carried out by you guys during your previous week. Some supervisors will ask about collateral readings, and you'll be supposed to explain your collateral readings.

Exams✍🏻

This course will consist of TWO exams per semester, namely the Midterm and End term exams.

  1. Mid-term Exam πŸ“ : The Mid-term exam will include four questions, out of which you will need to answer two within 90 minutes. Some professors may also assign homework, which will be evaluated and graded.
  2. End-term Exam πŸ–‹ : The End term exam will consist of four questions and two short notes. For the first four questions, you will have the option to attempt any one out of two given questions. For the short notes, you will be asked 4 short notes out of which you need to answer any two.

Mid-term Evaluation and End-term Evaluation πŸ™ƒ

In addition to the exams, you will also need to submit Mid-term and End-term evaluation reports to your fieldwork supervisor. You will then have conferences based on these reports. Preparing these reports might be difficult for some of you, but don't worry; we, the seniors, will guide you every step of the way.

Viva🧐

After the semester ends, you will have your Viva, where a panel of three professors will ask you questions based on your fieldwork, fieldwork activities, your learnings, and how you relate your classes and theory with the fieldwork agency. The Viva will take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete, and we will provide you with guidance on the questions you can expect.😊

Guidance and Support🀠

If you have any queries related to the course, please do not hesitate to contact me or any other seniors; we are always happy to help. Also, there is no need to worry about anything because we, the seniors, are always available to assist you.πŸ’―❤️
