Faculty of Social Work - MSU Baroda

This article aims to guide you for the MHRM (Master of Human Resource Management) Entrance Test. I have made my best effort to provide you with a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of the MHRM entrance exam under the Faculty of Social Work - MSUB.

---------------------------

College/University: The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda - Vadodara

Faculty: Faculty of Social Work

Admission Course: MHRM (Master of Human Resources Management)

Mode of Admission: Entrance Exam > Merit

Note: The final merit will be determined solely based on the Entrance Test. Previously, additional rounds of Group Discussion, Extempore, and Personal Interviews were conducted after the entrance test until 2020. However, starting from 2021, the university has eliminated those additional rounds. Consequently, the final merit from 2021 onwards is prepared based on the entrance test, which carries a weightage of 100 marks.

Structure of entrance test: 100 Questions & 100 Marks (No-Negative Marking)

NOTE: If you are already preparing for CAT or CMAT and have an engineering background, it is important, NOT to assume that the MHRM entrance test will be easy for you. While you may already be well-prepared in areas such as aptitude, reasoning, and English, it is essential to note that the MHRM entrance test includes additional topics related to HRM and other subjects. Furthermore, the time allotted for the entrance exam is limited, which adds to the challenge. Therefore, it is crucial to allocate adequate time and resources to prepare specifically for the MHRM entrance test to ensure success.

Generally, I divide MHRM entrance test syllabus into two major sections.

(1) Cognitive Topics: Aptitude + Reasoning + English + General Knowledge + Current Affairs

(2) HRM Related Topics: Industrial Psychology + Industrial Sociology + Fundamentals of Management + Labour economics and markets.

I have attached the syllabus and other important materials for the Entrance Test. Kindly visit all the links provided below. Additionally, please don't forget to review the analysis of past two years' question papers for the MHRM entrance test.

Here is a catch: In our entrance test hall ticket/admit card, the time for the examination mentioned was 2.5 hours > In the question paper, the time mentioned was 2 hours > But, actually they provided us only 1.5 hours (1 hour and 30 minutes). So, be ready for any kind of surprise...👀

The analysis provided below focuses solely on the years 2022 and 2023, as from 2024 onward, all sections have an equal ratio, making further analysis unnecessary.

-------------------------------

Here, I am providing you with the analysis of the MHRM question paper for the years 2022 and 2023. As mentioned earlier, I have divided the MHRM Entrance syllabus into two major portions:

1) HRM Related Topics: This includes Industrial Psychology, Industrial Sociology, Fundamentals of Management, and Labour Economics and Markets.

2) Cognitive Topics: This comprises Aptitude, Reasoning, English, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs.

Analysis of MHRM Question Papers

From the above analysis, it is evident that in the year 2023, the emphasis on Aptitude, Reasoning, and Current Affairs has increased significantly, with only 25 marks allocated to HRM-related topics. However, in my year, 2022, 56 marks were dedicated to HRM-related topics. This demonstrates that the difficulty level and distribution of marks across topics can vary each year. Therefore, for those aspiring to pursue MHRM in FSW, it is crucial to prepare comprehensively and be ready for any scenario. Take a 360° approach to your preparation and ensure you are well-versed in all areas to increase your chances of success.

Here, I am providing you with additional analysis to better understand the marks distribution of Cognitive topics in the past two years.
